This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to use their advanced analytical skills to help transform the way mainstream finance delivers lasting impact to improve people's lives. This is a key role to influence our fundraising efforts for our first external social impact investing product.

As the UK’s leading and largest dedicated social impact investor, we are establishing a first of its kind social impact investing product that will connect investors to opportunities that are helping solve some of the UK’s most entrenched social issues. We’re looking for someone who shares our passion to improve people’s lives to help shape the design, development and delivery of this product working across Big Society Capital and with our external partners.

This role provides a platform to learn and broaden the individual’s exposure to social impact investing in the UK, while gaining a first-hand insight into how Big Society Capital works and benefiting from formal and informal learning and development opportunities.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

The Investment Manager will work across the organisation to design, develop and deliver our first external social impact investing product. The job holder will:
  • Lead analysis of our existing portfolio to inform product design choices and enable us to tell a compelling story of the financial and social impact performance of our investments.
  • Engage and influence potential investors by helping to develop materials that highlight Big Society Capital’s differentiated offer and the ways those investors can use their capital to help improve people’s lives
  • Working closely with the Chief Investment Officer and Chief Financial Officer to establish new ways of working that ensure Big Society Capital is ready to deliver this new product by the end of 2019.
  • Play a key role in the team to help bring the organisation, senior management and Board along with us on our capital raising efforts.
