Last month, Prince Charles visited the Homeground Hostel in Liverpool to meet young homeless people helped by Local Solutions, a charity supporting vulnerable and excluded people throughout the Merseyside region.

Local Solutions is supported by the Fair Chance Fund Social Impact Bond working to help homeless 18-24 year olds who are not in employment, education and/or training.

During his visit, Prince Charles spoke to hostel resident, Osian Roberts Cave, a previous drug user who had recently arrived at the centre and enrolled onto a training course at Oakmere Community College. In the letter below, Osian describes how these services have impacted his life.

Local Solutions is one of seven Social Impact Bonds across the UK awarded a share of £15 million under the Fair Chance Fund project, which is working to turn the lives around of individuals such as Osian around the country.
