Statement on Transforming Rehabilitation

Region |

Responding to the announcement by the Ministry of Justice on the bidders who have passed the first stage of the process to become prime contractors for probation services.

Nick O’Donohoe, Chief Executive of Big Society Capital said: “It is positive to see a high number of socially motivated consortia shortlisted – including well respected charities and probation mutuals, all of whom have a strong track record of working in Criminal Justice.

We believe it is absolutely critical that charities and social enterprises continue to play a significant role in delivering probation services, and the social investment market stands ready to enable their participation through providing differing types of funding.”
