Sophie previously worked for GLG, a learning platform for investment management firms, where she managed relationships with leading private equity firms in Spain, DACH and UK. At GLG she was instrumental in building the Spain Private Equity team from scratch and managed a team of five within the Spain and Infrastructure business units. Before GLG Sophie worked at ASI in international development which took her to DR Congo where she served as a Project Manager on a DFID-funded private sector development project, as well as to Nigeria where she analysed challenges faced by female entrepreneurs.
As part of the On Purpose programme, Sophie has already completed another placement at CAF Venturesome, the social investment arm of Charities Aid Foundation, and will be with Big Society Capital until September 2019.
Sophie holds a dual MA/MSc in International & World History from Columbia University in the City of New York and the London School of Economics as well as a BA in German and Spanish Literature from the University of Oxford. She speaks German and Spanish at native level.
