Stephen joined Big Society Capital after a series of senior roles in government. Most recently he was Director, Criminal Justice Policy at the Ministry of Justice, but has also worked in the Cabinet Office, the Department for Energy and Climate Change and the Homes and Communities Agency among others. He has been a non-executive director of an NHS trust, a Visiting Fellow at the Institute of Policy Research, University of Bath, and has published several papers on policy making and public services. He is also a Trustee of the Friends Provident Foundation.
